White bean and apple paste
1 + 1/2
cooked white beans
(or a tin of ready made beans if you are pushed for time)
(deseeded if you don’t like too much heat)
nama shoyu sauce
(raw, unpasteurised soy sauce- normal soy or tamari will work also!)
Chop the onion and garlic into small pieces, and then the chilies if using.
Grate the apple.
Add your coconut oil to a pan and once melted add the onion and garlic and fry over a medium heat.
Add your chillies to the pan. You can also substitute with cayenne pepper. If you are using cayenne instead you should add later along with the other herbs.
Mash the beans and add to the pan with the onion, garlic and chilli and mix well.
Add your apple to the bean paste. Stir in well and add the water.
Finally add the herbs, raisins and nama shoyu to the pan.
Mix it all in well and let it cook for 1 minute.
Serve hot with bread or crackers, it will also last for a few days and is lovely eaten cold too!
